As vice president of quality for Reliable Plating Works and Elite Finishing, Jeff works to ensure top-notch performance in every aspect of the process, from equipment functioning to production and lab operations, through delivery. He helps create new plating processes, designs tooling and is involved with the internal quality team, as well as several national quality organizations.
An intimate understanding of technical processes gives him an appreciation for the importance and unique challenges of each task. "There's not a job in this facility I haven't done, so I know what everyone's dealing with," he says.
Because plating is a complex process, there are many variables and many opportunities for error. When problems arise, simple solutions usually don't work. For Jeff, it becomes a puzzle to be unraveled with inventive thinking and available resources, a task at which he excels. Finding solutions, he says, is the most rewarding and challenging aspect of his job.
In terms of successful business practices, Jeff believes the best companies focus on more than balance sheets: customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and profitability go hand in hand. RPW and Elite have proven him true, doubling sales in the past several years, while cultivating a strong employee base through competitive compensation packages, profit sharing and a worker-friendly environment.
Jeff and his brothers see a future full of promise and possibility for the company, a third-generation family legacy. "Our goal is company growth," says Jeff. "And we can achieve it by staying ahead of the competition and staying on top of technology. If new, improved products are available, I want them first."
In his free time, Jeff enjoys motorcycle riding, snowmobiling and coaching kids' soccer. He has been married to his wife Lisa, has two boys Devon and Tyler, and lives in Waukesha.
