In high school, Greg Kulis developed a desire to turn lackluster car parts into shining jewels. Today, he lives out that passion on a much grander scale. "Lots of specialists can do a good job plating one part," he says. "But reproducing show-quality finish 1000 pieces at a time 100 times per shift-now that's a challenge!"

As project engineer for Reliable Plating Works and Elite Finishing, Greg guides thousands of products through the electroplating process ensuring that each meets the most rigorous standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Whether it's a high-profile motorcycle cover or a simple plumbing fitting, the goal is the same: excellence.

"Rack design is one of the number one engineering feature," Greg notes. "The position of the part on the rack is directly linked to the quality of the end product."

When he joined the company in 2000, Greg had 25 years experience in the plating industry under his belt. In 2002 he achieved his CEF (Certified Electro Finisher) certification. His expertise spans many areas, including electroless plating, polishing, rack design, analysis and control of solutions, filtration and waste water treatment. He has had the fortune of working with numerous service and technical representatives throughout the country and in related fields.

In his current role, Greg enjoys the fast-paced work environment and challenges of the job. A day's work might include a diverse range of tasks, including engineering rack designs, setting up process procedures, following parts through the electroplating cycle to access efficiency, testing to ensure a quality end product, and trouble-shooting.

Greg's guiding philosophy? Take a proactive approach that focuses on planning and preparing. "I want to make sure the job is done right the first time," he says.

Greg Kulis resides in Milwaukee with his two boys. In his spare time, he collects antique bottles and books on Milwaukee and Wisconsin history.
